Gratitude Over Grumbling

Exodus 16:2 — And the whole congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness

If we have learned anything over the last few weeks in our study in Exodus, it’s that the Israelites liked to grumble!

I think it’s safe to say that most of us are not unlike the Israelites in our own grumbling. Oftentimes, grumbling is simply the result of our resistance to change. We don’t like when God nudges us or pushes us into unfamiliar territory. So instead of seeing all the new blessings that come with new opportunities, we choose to only see the challenges.

Do two things this week:

  1. Look at where you are in life right now. How would things be different if you chose gratitude over grumbling?

  2. Despite our grumbling, God still provides. Take a few minutes to thank Him for all the times He has provided for you even when you were ungrateful!
